Marking the 50th Anniversary of the
Chinese takeover of Inner Mongolia
by M. Altanbat
There is the reason why China decided to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of the Creation of the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region on 20th of July that
should be celebrated on 1st of May. The Chinese government decided to celebrate the 50th
anniversary only after it taking over Hong Kong under its authority to show their power to
the Inner Mongolians, Uighurs and Tibetans.
To show to the World, especially to Mongolia that they are the
"savior" of the Inner Mongolians, the Beijing government has sent thousands of
Chines workers to Inner Mongolia, especially to Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia
to build high buildings, exotic bridges, wide modern roads. Also the government regularly
shows how the Inner Mongolians are living happy with the Chinese through the TV stations
of Inner Mongolia. Chinese TV, radio, newspapers regularly say that, before the Chinese
Communist Party coming to Inner Mongolia , the Inner Mongolians were living in the hell
and were about to vanish from the earth and then the Chinese Communist Party and People's
Liberation Army (PLA) came and gave freedom to their Mongol brothers and the Inner
Mongolians got the opportunity to live happy and be free, and also became the real owners
of their land.
Are the Inner Mongolians really living happy and free now under
the authority of the Chinese Communist Party ? Have the Inner Mongolians really become the
real owners of their land ? Are the Inner Mongolians really willing to be part of China ?
These are all lies !!!
Lets turn to the historical facts. 50 years ago the Chinese
Communist Party, conspired with the Soviet Communist Party and the Chinese Army
entered into Inner Mongolia, crushed the sovereignty of Inner Mongolia by the power of
Army and established the very repressive regime ever in Inner Mongolia. The Chinese
Communists created the so-called Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region(IMAR) by the power of
their rifle, and Ulaankhuu, the true followers of the Chines Communist Party, became the
chairman of the IMAR and he began to play the fate of the Inner Mongolians. It has been
very misery 50 years for the Inner Mongolia under the rule of Chines Communist Party.
There have been many crimes done by the Chines Communist Party against the Inner
Mongolians:
- Inner Mongolia is very rich by their natural resources, and takes
the 1st place in China by its coal, steel and natural pastures. 4 out of 6 Chinese gold
mines are in Inner Mongolia. 80% of the world's rare-earth metal are found in Inner
Mongolia. During the 50 years, the Chinese government robbed all wealth that found
on and under the land and as a result, Inner Mongolia became sea of deserts and now are
under ecological destruction. Since 1960's, after the Chinese government conducted nuclear
tests in Western part of the Inner Mongolia and dumped the nuclear wastes in Bayan-Nuur
League and Alsha League, the nuclear radiation began to pollute the nature and
people's health in Inner Mongolian.
- During the 50 years, Chinese Communist Party and Chinese
Government carried out ethnic cleansing policy against the Inner Mongolians. Just
during the Cultural revolution , 150,000 Mongols were killed, and 1,000,000 Mongolians
were persecuted. Among them. over 50,000 were disabled . Its was one of the very cruel
murders in the history of mankind.
The Chines government also has been carrying out very cruel birth-control policy in Inner
Mongolia, and it is the part of the cleansing policy.
- During the 50 years, the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese
Government settled millions of Chinese people into Inner Mongolia. Such a policy is
to exterminate and assimilate the Mongols entirely. 50 years ago, Mongols in
Inner Mongolia were 85 % of population, and now the Mongols are out-numbered by 1: 6. So
Inner Mongolians have become the minority in their motherland. Today in Inner
Mongolia, there are not many Mongols are on the key positions of the Autonomous Region.
Many positions the Mongols holding are not having any power. The real power of the Inner
Mongolian Autonomous Region is in the hands of the Chinese people. In Inner Mongolia
Chinese people usually works as policeman, prosecutors and judges. In the sectors
of petroleum, rare-earth metals, and steel industries, the Chinese workers are
taking up to 95 % of the workforces. No Mongolian workers are at the military factories.
About 90 % of the population in Inner Mongolia's main cities, such as Hohhot, Bugat (Bao
Tou) are Chinese people. Mongolian herdsman are still living very poor in the sandy
deserts. During the past few years, Chinese Government forcibly reduced the prices of the
cattle raw materials and therefore the living of the Inner Mongolians became very poor and
they could not even give their children the opportunity to study at schools.
- Although a few newspapers and magazines are published regularly in
Mongol language, the official papers as all in Chinese. Although there are a TV and a
radio stations in Mongol language, Mongolians in the rural area are unable to watch and
listen to them. How could the Inner Mongolians living in such difficult conditions have
any more patience to be part of China?
How long would they keep their patience under the repression of
the Chinese Communist Party? Any patience has a its limit. Ever since that time when Inner
Mongolia was occupied by the Chinese Communist Party, the struggle of the Inner Mongolians
have not stopped at any time. And now the Inner Mongolians are continuing to struggle
against the Chinese Communist Party and Han Chinese chauvinism.
A brief account on the Inner Mongolians' struggling against the
Chinese Communist Regime since 1980:
- Spring, 1981. Demonstration, protest meetings, school strikes of
Inner Mongolian students lasted for 3 months under the leadership of Temtsiltu and others. At the same time, Mongol students
at the Universities in Northeastern provinces of China, province of Gan su, Khokh-Nuur
(Qing Hai), Xin Jiang and Beijing also carried out strikes, organized demonstrations to
support the Inner Mongolian students. This 3 months of movement was a big strike for the
Chinese Communist Party.
- When the Inner Mongolian students learned that West Germany's
nuclear wastes were buried in Alsha and Bayan Nuur Leagues of the Inner Mongolia, Mongol
students burst their way into the Chinese Government buildings in Inner Mongolia. The
Chinese general in Inner Mongolia Tsai Ying cracked down on the students movement using
the armed forces.
In 1990, many Mongolian intellectuals gathered to struggle for the
sovereignty of the Inner Mongolia. Their political agenda had these 3 steps:
- Using 2-4 years to gain wide support among the Inner Mongolians.
- Using another 3-5 years to organize secret political organizations
against the Chinese Communist Party in all Inner Mongolian territory.
- Using 3 more years to establish an independent Inner Mongolia.
In May, 1990 this organization was cracked down by the Chinese
Communist Party and 26 members of this organization were arrested.
- In March, 1994 some Mongols organized to carry out a wide movement
for voting democratically and openly for all levels of official position in Inner
Mongolia. Also for creating free press, giving the Mongolians the right to publish
newspapers and to amend the law that discriminates the Mongol people.
- In April, 1994, over the 4000 Mongol officials signed
petition to the Beijing government protesting the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese
Central Government's policy . This action very much upset the Beijing
Government.
- In December,1995 many Inner Mongolian students, intellectuals
organized protest rallies protesting the arrests of members of the Southern Mongolian
Democratic Alliance.
- The Inner Mongolian People's Party was founded on the 21th of
March, 1997 in The United States. The Inner Mongolian People's Party organized numbers of
protests against the Chinese Communist Party's policy toward the Inner Mongolia. the party
is calling on the Inner Mongolians to fight for the independence and sovereignty of
Inner Mongolia.
The party organized following events to mark the 50th anniversary
of Chinese takeover of Inner Mongolia:
- May 1, organized demonstrations in New-York, Washington, D.C.,
Houston and Germany
- May 7, organized demonstrations in front of the Chinese
Embassy Ulan Bator, Mongolia
Day by day the sparkle of the struggle spreads widely into the
territory of
The Inner Mongolia like the flame from the sparkle, from the flame the fire!
