a report on the IMPP's May
1, 1999 demonstration
IMPP's demonstration to
mark the 52nd anniversary of Chinese occupation of Inner Mongolia was very successful.
Dozen of IMPP members and dozen of IMPP supporters, most of them were Uighurs from Eastern
Turkestan, came to Washington DC to protest the Chinese continuous occupation of Inner
Mongolia. Another protest was held in front of the Splendid China Theme Park in
Florida by members of the Citizens Against
Chinese Communist Propaganda (CACCP).
The protest in Washington started at 12:00 Noon in front of the Chinese Embassy. The protesters condemned the Chinese government's continuous occupation of Inner Mongolia, Eastern Turkestan, Tibet and demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners, including Mr. Hada. They also condemned the Chinese government's Human Rights violation in Inner Mongolia, Eastern Turkestan, and Tibet.
The protesters shouted slogans and sang Mongolian and Uighur songs.

covered the entire event.
The protesters handed out flyers to the passerby and spectators.
The protest ended around 3:30 PM with the solemn chorus of "Gadaa Meiren".
